James Bond Island & Phang Nga Bay: Private Tour from Krabi
The needle-shaped rock Koh Tapu off Khao Phing Kan is one of Thailand's most famous sights, known since the 1974 Bond film “The Man with the Golden Gun”. Most groups arrive there when it is busiest. We run the route in reverse: we leave Ao Nang at 8 am, explore the mangrove coast first, then visit the floating village of Koh Panyee, a village on stilts, and reach James Bond Island in the afternoon when it gets quieter. By speedboat the ride from Ao Nang takes roughly one to one and a half hours, depending on route and sea.
To protect the rock needle, boats may not go close to Koh Tapu and climbing is not allowed; the best photo often comes from the boat with a little distance. The bay is mostly calm and the walks on land are short, so the tour works well with children too. Included are national park fees, water, soft drinks, fruit, time to swim and relax and the hotel transfer. You travel in a white hardtop cabin boat for a maximum of five guests, the price is per boat and the tour takes eight hours.
Who is this tour for?
For families, couples and film fans who want to see the classic of Phang Nga Bay without standing in a queue. The tour is a relaxed full day with short walks on land.
