Bioluminescent Plankton in Krabi: Night Glow by Speedboat

Bioluminescent plankton is not something you watch from behind glass: you swim right in it. Our Night Glow tour leaves Ao Nang at 6 pm by private speedboat and runs via Ao Nang Bay and a dark bay near Koh Poda to Koh Hong (Krabi). After dark we anchor in a remote bay free of light pollution and switch off engine and lights. As soon as you slip from the boat into the warm water, the plankton glows blue with every movement, with the stars above you.

The glow is strongest on moonless nights around new moon. The intensity varies naturally and cannot be guaranteed, and if it is windy or choppy the swim stop does not take place. For the stop we bring life vests with lights and a boarding ladder; towels, snacks and drinks as well as the hotel transfer are included. The boat is a white hardtop cabin boat with a bench seat and comfortable boat chairs for a maximum of five guests. The price is per boat, and the tour takes four hours.
